Reference: Juxtapoz Psychedelic

I found this book during writing research paper, which was about juxtaposition and alternative realities. Though these works were not included in the paper, this book gave me some ideas the beginning of the research. Some of them look really contemporary and scientific or abstract. Some of them are in more traditional illustration styles, with elegant details. I found that collage is pretty popular in this kind of theme. In terms of colour, their colours tend to be dramatic. Purple, red, green and blue are used a lot. Perhaps the strong contrast between them can stimulate people.

Reference: 500 Ceramic Sculptures & Masters: Earthenware

These were collected as potential reference for the research paper, but as 3D works, they were not included in the paper.

Key words: organic forms, colourful

The colours of this artist's work are so rich, and the contents are so complex. It must be really time-consuming during making. The blue and yellow colours at the back are the effect that I want to achieve. I will do some research and tests later.

Because my paper is about fantastical landscapes that I was looking for anything that might relevant. This tea set is absolutely abnormal.

This one looks like some alien creature.

Glazes are cool.

This installation is odd. The shape and colour keep making me think about stomach, gut or heart.

Reference: Master's Porcelain, Novelty Teapots & Animals in Clay

My research paper is about fantasy art, so I am finding 3D works matching this direction which may be used as examples in my paper.

1. Master's Porcelain

I like the weirdness in her work, as well as elements of illustration she used.

His works are close to the setting in my imagination. It is strange that after his composition, these daily objects turned into something surreal and marvellous.

This is another style of work, which has more organic, magical forms. Though these two artists all used objects in our daily life, the style of work showed completely different.

Colours here are so attractive.

2. Novelty Teapots

Following photos were taken from two books, which both are about teapots with novel shape.

Before I read these books, I didn't know that a teapot can have such various forms.

3. Animals in Clay

Temporarily, I have no idea about how I am going to use these references, but they have given me some inspiration.

The majority of ceramic work I can find is object, hoping that I can find more work about landscape, space and setting. I will keep looking for them, and also check stage setting, installation, etc.
